Disable The Sims 4 Packs

Select which packs you don't want to load.

1. Select the packs you don't want to load below

2. Open the following file with a text editor: Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > UserSettings(.ini)

3. Find the following line packstoskipmount = and replace the entire line with the generated text from the box below

4. Save the file. Make sure the editor doesn’t add a .txt at the end. It needs to stay a ini file or the game will simply create a new file.

Re-enable all your packs

1. Open the following file with a text editor: Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > UserSettings(.ini)

2. Find the following line packstoskipmount = and remove any numbers after the equals sign

3. Save the file. Make sure the editor doesn’t add a .txt at the end. It needs to stay a ini file or the game will simply create a new file.

Follow the steps above and replace the packstoskipmount = line exactly in UserSetting.ini with:

This method is currently broken

As of the March 17 2026 game patch this method of disabling packs has been broken. It is unclear if this was intentional from EA or not. If you'd like this method restored upvote this bug report on the EA Forums.

For now you will have to use the in-game method of disabling packs by heading to the Marketplace and selecting My Collection.

Disable The Sims 4 Packs

EA App

1. Open EA App and head to Library

2. Click on the … symbol on The Sims 4 and select View Properties

3. Enter the text in the box labelled Advanced launch options and click Save
